ScribeFire 3.2.3 Released

Filed under: Releases, ScribeFire -- Christopher Finke @ 06:00pm

Version 3.2.3 of ScribeFire has been released. The only change in this release was to remove the QuickAds management pane from ScribeFire, pending an overhaul of ScribeFire’s monetization features.

You can install this update manually at Mozilla Add-ons, or you can wait for Firefox to automatically download it for you.

I’ve been looking and looking and can’t find it: is there anyway to access the keyword and summary fields that TypePad uses on ScribeFire? If so, it’s the perfect tool for me. Please let me know. Thanks!

I would like to know where the hell my money is, SCRIBEFIRE. It was supposed to be paid to PayPal on the 7th. Can we say, RIP OFF?

Wow, there have been a lot of improvements over the past year!

Question: how can you use ScribeFire securely? I’m travelling to ApacheCon Europe 2009 next week, and will be posting regular updates at Community Over Code. However I’m not looking forward to sending my username and password in the clear over the hotel’s public wifi to the xml-rpc endpoint.

For my personal blog I have an SSL server cert, so I simply post everything over https. However most users either don’t have a webhost who provides easy & cheap SSL certs, or may be using a shared blogging platform where that’s not provided. Are there any tips either 1) other ways that they can use ScribeFire securely on a public wifi, or 2) any plans to add this kind of support in for any of the blogging platform plugins?

    Thanks for the work overall!

What happened to access to our stats? will we get our outstanding earnings? I’ve tried emailing support after I noticed that I couldn’t access the dashboard anymore but so far no one has replied.

Hi, since the new ScribeFire I get a div class=”zemanta-pixie” at the end of every blog-entry I write. But I don’t want this class. Is it spam?

Sorry to bug you but I have a simple question. Is there a way to do an LJ-cut (I use Livejournal) using Scribefire? I tried using “Insert a custom HTML tag” but I don’t think I’m doing it right?

When Blogger’s post scheduling feature is released from “Blogger in Draft” will ScribeFire eventually have the capability to schedule Blogger blog posts right w/in ScribeFire? That would be AWESOME!

I have ScribeFire 3.2.3 and am a fan. However, this morning (26/3/9) when I tried to open it, it returned the bad login/password message …. twice. Adding my blog and re-entering my password and username for my Wordpress blog doesn’t seem to help.

    Please help.

ScribeFire is waste of time. I installed this because I have tried to start a blog on ‘Blogger’ and found the problem was that I couldn’t write it offline in Word and then cut and past it into a window to create a new post in Blogger. Sure, it’ll let me paste it but it won’t let me post it as a blog because it says there are formatting errors or something. Same in Scribefire, except worse because you can’t even ‘undo’ formatting instructions. e.g. if you turn something into a bulleted list, how can you undo that?
Surely there must be some simple way to write something offline in a word processor and then cut and paste it -to preserve italics, tales, bold text etc – and then publish the blog. Why do these computer people make everything so difficult?

    @Tony

Why not just write the posts offline in ScribeFire, and then post them when you get back online? When you copy and paste from Word (or any other word processor), you get a lot of cruft. Which is why you’re getting the formatting errors. Most blog engines expect HTML. What you’re getting when you paste from Word is anything but.

    Guys,

“Can we say, RIP OFF?” &

    “ScribeFire is waste of time.”

…No one is asking you to be here and to use this software. :)

Always used scribefire, but my payment did not enter my paypal account. Shame scribefire. And it has passed 2 months now.

Any updates on the final Quickads payments? It’s been over a month since you said they were being processed.

Chris, here it is June 5th and still nothing from Scribefire Quick ads about payment. I’m ready to contact Mozilla about Scribefire.
