I love ScribeFire as an offline blogging tool.

So, since I tested it today on my new ASUS EeePC 900 and had some of the same "problems" as with the ASUS EeePC 701, I'll post some suggestions here. Basically we're seeing a rush of ultra portable notebooks - and it is exactly on such devices that this Ffx plugin would be very useful - since ultra portable devices are often outside, on the road, often offline...

The point here is: these devices have a bit lower screen resolutions:
ASUS EeePC 701 = 800x480
ASUS EeePC 900 = 1024x600

I can configure ScribeFire to oen in a new tab - which is a very cool option. It helps solve the problem of too little height (even on the EeePC 701 that's OK). Now the main problem is the width. Please consider following or similar changes for a future release:

- shorten text on buttons underneath textarea. Maybe subsitute "Publish to 'ScribeFire: Fire up your blogging!" for "Publish" or better even: work with icons.
- also the other buttons there could be smaller - maybe icons
- we could save some width by somehow moving the icons on the left (Editor, Promote...) - maybe to a place where they use height instead of width, or are accessible only when needed by flyout menu or similar...
- make it possible to close the tab part on the right
- shorten title input field (to maybe half size)
- a great help would be to make it possible to scroll the editor from left to right - so on a EeePC 701 it would be possible to see the right "Publish" button.

Main problems are the editor width. On the ASUS EeePC 701 (800 width) it is practically impossible to press the right publish button, on the EeePC 900 (1024 width) it is only possible by minimizing the right "tabs area" to a few pixels width.

I hope you don't read this as a SribeFire bashing. I love ScribeFire and it would be very cool, if a future release would make it possible for people on the road with small devices to use this. I think it's exactly these on the road people needing such a thing (and it being a Ffx plugin helps people with linux to install it a lot!).
