ScribeFire 2.0.1 update available
Filed under: Releases, ScribeFire -- Christopher Finke @ 10:30amWe’ve released an update to ScribeFire 2.0 that fixes some of the main issues you’ve been seeing since the last release:
- Added an ‘Edit’ button for the blogs list.
- Added the “Keep Content” button back.
- Fix for notes tab always being selected when a new editor tab is opened.
- Fixed bug making links in preview mode not work.
- Added username to authorization prompt.
- Fixed bug in account wizard where bad login data would cause it to do nothing.
- Fixed LiveJournal support in account wizard.
- Fixed bug causing LiveJournal titles not to appear.
- Cleaned up “Delete Page/Post/Note” functionality.
- Made editor remember the last edit mode.
- Updated Korean, Russian, and Spanish translations.
You can install the update at Mozilla Add-ons, or you can wait for Firefox to notify you that it is available.
Update: Another update, version 2.0.2, has been released to combat an issue with the Spanish translation.

Upgrade went wrong… I can only see this:
%performancingDTD;
^
on the bottom of the screen…
I would be glad to help in debugging… just tell me how
Greetings

Hi,
Installed the latest update, but the ‘Blog this page’ function in the context menu is broken. When I try to post a quote, neither the page link nor the quote appears in the ScribeFire window.

Federico: Looks like it was a problem with the Spanish translation. I’ve fixed it and uploaded version 2.0.2.

There is still a problems with 2.0.2 on a number of things
Affiliate URLS/links are getting stripped upon publishing to blog
The right hand side cant be adjusted its basically out or in
The publish button is slightly cut off when you have the right side open
When i have copied a URL to my clipboard then i highlight a piece of text and click the hyperlink button the URL on my clipboard is not the same one in the url window
Basically your doing a good with this but there is some issues which is preventing it from being great!

Christopher, now is working without problems… many thanks.
Dont wanna be demanding, just three tips:
- Posibility to avoid use of tabs (my screen is really small, and it use much of its space)
- Posibility to resize the right panel (as in older versions)… not in fixed way as now (all or nothing)
- Question box when clearing content (many many times i have hated that button xD)
Well… besides those ‘tips’ (or demands hehe… sorry), this is a “really” great tool, that makes my life a lot easier… specially when i dont have much time to go to my wordpress admin.. type there..format text, and so on… so “Thanks!”
p.s: is there any way to send you some $thank$? (paypal, maybe)… it wont be much… but, well.. just as a return for your job

Up to now, since upgrading to 2.x, I haven’t been able to post anything via scribefire. recent update 2.0.2 for login troubles gave me perfomancingUI not defined when trying to edit blog information.

Thanks for this great tool, but I can’t seem to upload images. I don’t get the option to upload to API that I usually do. I’m on Blogger.

Chris, I´ve detected -maybe- a problem.
I create a post, then edit it. When I click “publish as edit” TIMESTAMP CHANGES.
Post status changes from published to programmed because time goes 2 hours forward.
Platform: Wordpress 2.5
Maybe it´s a SFF bug or maybe is a problem with time on my server.
By the way, I have to review Spanish locale. There are a few labels/text in English. (99,98% OK)
April 25th, 2008 at 4:27 am
Chris, Federico:
Yes, Spanish locale had a little problem.
All files must be UTF-8, but my computer (Windows 2000) after changing an rdf file to UTF-8 it was again ANSI.
I wrote you, Chris, an email, and I suppose you have read it because you have fixed it.

Hi Chris,
Sorry, but the ‘Blog this page’ item in the right context menu is still broken in ScribeFire 2.02.
When I select some text on a page, then right click to blog it, the editor opens, but neither the page URL nor the selected text appears in the editor window.
ScribeFire is a great tool that I use daily to post to my blog at Born Angry. I am not a coder, but if I can help in any way, please contact me.

Addendum:
I have disabled all other extensions and switched to the default Firefox theme, but no joy.

First of all, thanks for taking my bug reports into account
More bugs since v2.0
- sometimes when clicking the “Publish to XYZ” button I get an alert box with the follwing warning (blogging plattform worpress 2.5):
>> Error with request, the server sent back the following response:
>> “parse error. not well formed”
This is the latest posting whrere I encountered the problem:
http://www.volkszertreter.de/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=1502
- when you edit a post’s timestamp via the Options tab, then minimize scribefire (using the X) before clicking “Publish as edit” and then maximize SF again, the Options tab has forgotten all modifications

Great plug in, but I have to roll back to 2.0 I think. as soon as I open it up, I get a username/password issue – this did not happen with 2.0, but did happen with the version before that, and now again with 2.0.2.
Thanks for a great plug in… 2.0 worked perfect, and I’ll stay with that, no need to keep upgrading for me
have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Jerry

Same here, the username/password issue is back again.
April 26th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Like Jerry said, 2.0.2 gives wrong username and password error for the right password and cannot login to the WordPress blog. Please fix this asap.

Thanks for the fixes. I’m still having issues with the notes tab creating multiple notes for the same post. I’m also still unable to delete any notes. I’m asked to confirm and then get the alert that the not could not be deleted.
Thanks.

the ‘Save Note’ button seems to disappear sometimes.
