Dan: This is the second report I’ve had of ScribeFire messing up customized toolbars, but I can’t get it to happen on my machine. What OS/Firefox version are you running?

W^L+: NBSP is the proper way to insert an non-breaking space regardless of character set. If you use numeric character codes you risk the output becoming corrupted when displayed in a different character set than it was written for, so I would recommend AGAINST using those. For example, #130 and eacute both display the same character, but eactue is guaranteed to work in any character set that has the eacute character even if it isn’t 130, while inserting the character directly or using a numerical code may cause the character to change if a different character set is used.

It sounds like a Feedburner bug to me, and you should inform THEM of it.

In short I would request ScribeFire to continue using nbsp.

Markus: WordPress supports Pages which are separate from normal blog posts. Basically it allows you to make your entire website in WordPress and have it match the look and feel of your WordPress theme easily. Other blogging software probably also support similar features.

The preview release resets the custom configurations of the menu bar and the navigation toolbar every time Firefox starts up. It also hides custom toolbar icons from User Agent Switcher, Web Developer Toolbar, and hides DownThemAll!’s toolbar button text and probably breaks more toolbar stuff. Also the ScribeFire toolbar icon does not appear properly in the customize window.

The new left tabs are nice for the pages of ScribeFire, but they are not properly hidden when the Settings to hide the Bookmark and Page Tools items are checked.

Also FTP information is not properly imported from 1.4.8, and if you try to enter in the same information Firefox complains about duplicate entries when you try to save it.

It does look nice but unfortunately is too buggy for regular use. I do like the UI changes you’ve made though so far.

I’m not using the preview.

Some issues:
(1) Should use numeric character entity instead of nbsp. The numeric doesn’t get my feed marked invalid by Feedburner, while nbsp does.
(2) Needs to open in a completely new window (but not a modal window that I cannot move behind another window).

Otherwise, a fantastic extension, one that I’m looking forward to seeing its growth.

Short test:

YouTube: FlashBlock installed-> Can’t activate flash through FlashBlock icon.
Two tabs: Tabs ‘jump’. They become smallewr on mouseover.
New Tab: Prefilled with invisible br and tab
Did I mention that the menu icons disappear when you go to the preview tab. Confusing! Some info needed.
Notes: Couldn’t open a note. An error message popped up: Sync Normal: TypeError: … (Idea: Paste error text into editor window).
Entries: What is the ‘Pages’ tab good for?
Posts: The list wasn’t the actual list from a Blogger site. The same from a Textpattern site.

Hope the issues are reproducible…
