ScribeFire 1.4.5 has been released. It is compatible with Firefox 1.5 through 3.0b3.
This release includes the following improvements:
- Adds a confirmation dialog before deleting a note (issue #47)
- Adds a font dropdown to the editor (issue #7)
- Adds the ability the float an image to the right or left of text. (issue #1) Select “Align…” from the right-click menu, or click one of the new alignment buttons on the editor toolbar after selecting an image.
- Adds support for Wordpress’s “<!–more–>” tag. (issue #3) Wordpress users will see a new button on the editor toolbar labeled “more.” Clicking this button will add a horizontal rule to the post that will be converted to the <–more–> tag when the entry is posted. Support will be added for more platforms as time permits.
If you have a bug to report or a feature to request, create an issue at the ScribeFire Google Code project.

Just one word…Awesome. If scribefire gets patches at this scale it will be the best blog editor around.

I skipped the 1.4.4 update and installed the 1.4.5 update today. The way I work with Scribefire, I blog links into categorized notes, and when ready to compose a new post, cut and paste the links / quotes I want to use into a new note for editing. It was always great to be able to switch to “preview mode”, and open all the links I wish to use into new Firefox tabs.
However now when I click a link in preview, it opens the web page IN THE EDITING WINDOW ITSELF! It was infuriating me, and not knowing if this was introduced in 1.4.4, I reinstalled 1.4.2. But it still has the same behaviour when using that version now. When I want to open and refer to the pages I wish to use in a post, I must copy / paste the urls one by one manually into new tabs.
Is there any logic to this? How can I get back the previous, sensible behavior?

I really like what I see here for ScribeFire, but how can I use it to do my Blog on Multiply?

Hi.
Where can I find a feature list, so I can see what ScribeFire supports?
For example- I have multiple blogs (about 10 in total) running on multiple platforms (blogger, WordPress, MovableType). Does ScribeFire support working with all of them simultaneously?
Which features on each platform are supported?

Thanks Guys, keep up the good work!
@Xslf:
Yes, scribefire supports all 3 platforms and you can set up multiple blogs in it. You can post to them one by one. There isn’t a post to all button yet. Maybe a feature you should request.

You STILL haven’t added the ability to open links on a new page!
Grrrrrr…

I agree with Chuck. The lack of an ability to default or easily change opening links on a new page is a huge problem for me. I open new links on a new page AS A RULE, and to have to go into the code view and add ‘target=”_blank”‘ each and every time is crazy.
I’d like the choice to default to one or the other, and to change the default on a case-by-case basis by clicking on “New Page” or “Same Page” in the link URL pop-up box.

New problems:
1. About information is still 1.4.4 while a 1.5.5 has been installed.
2. Can’t delete unused blog account. While I delete a blog account, a pup-up message says “Error deleting the selected blog ENTRY, please try again.”

Chuck and Norman: I’ve added this feature; it’ll be in the next release.
