What about Blogger bug ? Feeddburner redirect is not working ? Do we have a solution to it or it remains there ?
August 2nd, 2007 at 5:01 pm
How about telling me how to close the About page that pops up in the edit window. I clicked 'About' on your icon and now the damn About page won't go away. Dumb.
August 2nd, 2007 at 6:32 pm
Thanks for the case-insensitive tag sort. I can deal with case sensitivity at the linux command line, but don't even like it there.

Hi, need help: my notes are missing: when i open scribefire it marks and error and the notes never end to load... i have important information there and dont want to loose it... what can i do? Cheers and thanks in advanced...
August 2nd, 2007 at 11:44 pm
I know my situation is in the minority (it always is), but I have found that ScribeFire is not useful with the Pivot software that powers my blog. What is missing in particular is a means to draft the teaser portion of a new entry; ScribeFire doesn't recognize the existence of the teaser and only allows me to write a single monolithic entry. That ignores one of the useful features of Pivot that I like. Having to first draft an entry in ScribeFire and then jump to the blog interface and edit the entry again and republish defeats the purpose of ScribeFire.
August 3rd, 2007 at 4:22 am
Thanks! It seems to be working great so far.
August 3rd, 2007 at 3:11 pm
Thanks so much!
This version was upgraded for my some wishes. Very Good!
I have 6 blog sites which names are similar, so I confused the posting position sometimes.
The below features are very helpful for solution of the confusing problem.
# Blogs have their URL as tooltip in the blog listing
# Displays “View blog” button after publishing
# “Publish” button now contains blog name
And, Hmm...
I have a suggestion which related above feature.
#[Suggestion]# Blogs have their CHANGED NAME as option in the blog listing
This function will be helpful for recognition of blogs!
Another functions are useful also!
# Close button has been restored
# Clicking on a blog name opens in new tab, not window
(Forgive my humble english...)
Thanks very much, ScribeFire!!!
Gong.

Am I missing something? How do I turn off the "Powered by Scribefire" at the bottom of each post?

Es buenísimo, hacia rato esperaba un programa asi. Simplifica mucho a la hora de publicar.

August 6th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
Sorry forgot about html source code... Let's try that again! (hopefully this works)
#12, jtdarby: you can switch that off by going in to settings (click the << in the far top left corner if the menu isn't open) and under Publishing features make sure "Automatically insert Powered by ScribeFire" is NOT ticked. Should do it for you!
August 7th, 2007 at 2:46 am
Please... ADD alignment for Images in the dialog. It's real basic, and should be integrated in any blogging client.
August 7th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
Improved BUT you still have not closed the "blockquote" tag when you cut'n'paste copy in HTML view mode!!!!!!!!!
August 9th, 2007 at 10:06 am
Just installed your pretty stuff, works fine for me... hint for those -like me- at blogspot.com: insert the new API-adress

I'll add one more ... why the bloody heck is there no way to turn OFF the "Powered by Scribfire" tagging? Or is this the standard now?
August 11th, 2007 at 8:16 am
Hi guys.
Is there any addon or themes able to download?
August 12th, 2007 at 5:34 am
Is it that I just couldn't find it or there's no way to edit the publish date/time anymore?
August 13th, 2007 at 9:13 am
Much better but the blockquote feature is still incredibly buggy. Basically, I have to do all the management in the HTML view.
August 14th, 2007 at 3:11 pm
I would add a vote to being able to publish in the future. Little of what I do, since it is original content(!), needs to be done right now. Consequently, I only use scribefire in "fire" situations.
Also, the image editing is a must, echoing the needs of others.
(All blogs are in WordPress 2.2.1)
Those are my two votes. It's a really nice program.
August 15th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
Wow. Sorry you guys are getting beat up so much. I think this is a nifty little add in. Yes, it's a little buggy, but thanks.
Regards
August 16th, 2007 at 7:58 pm
The Myspace plugin no longer works, that's a bummer. First, the myspace add-on doesn't save the password anymore. Entering it allows for a login, but even in the myspace mode the "publish to" button only sends it to another blog I have, not myspace. It's a bummer, I'd really like to have that feature back, and have the add on work again

Excellent work guys, Scribe Fire is a lifesaver.
Something I did notice though is when I use the tag I get an error.
The text "" shows up rather than letting ppl click the link to read more.
Any fix for that? Or is it possible to add an html option so codes like these can be typed in directly?
Thanks again guys,
Leon
August 18th, 2007 at 8:00 am
I've described the bug in that link - http://munchyrat.wordpress.com/2007/08/18/scribefire-broken/ -basically, I can't blog!
I normally don't do anything with Scribefire except quick-n-dirty note-taking for my blog and yesterday, I thought: "I wonder what 'page info' does?" and clicked that.
I can't make anything take me back to the "blog this" page!
August 18th, 2007 at 6:02 pm
Hi---guys:
Thanxs for creating ScribeFire. I love it, makes my blogging easier and faster. When you get a moment if you could add a timestamp feature, that would totally rock. Thanxs, again.
Missy.
August 23rd, 2007 at 9:49 am
Wow, this is so great. From zero to posting in a few minutes. I'm going to use it a lot. Thanks :)
(If something could be improved would be the ability to change the editing font, the one in display is not perfect xD)
Thanks a lot for you effort

Trackbacks no longer work.
August 25th, 2007 at 2:06 pm
Nice add-on, which would *really* be useful if passed thorough a user modifiable template in a file somewhere with something like:
[content]
[title]
[text]
[date]
[date/time]
[blogname]
etc
And if it were possible to perserve formatting or have SF always paste content into HTML view.
And (unclosed) blockquote could be disabled by user.
And if clear all would reset position in tag listbox back to the top.
And if after post, SF would always display the text it does when finished.
Using FF/SF under Linux, closest thing I've found to blogjet, and it's far more convenient being a FF plugin instead of an external application.
August 26th, 2007 at 6:45 am
Working good. Great addon-thanks
September 2nd, 2007 at 7:46 am
Any chance that ScribeFire will be compatible with MT 4? As it stands, I see no way to make it work. It would appear the xmlrpc file is no longer included in MT 4.
September 3rd, 2007 at 8:46 pm
ScribeFire is GrEaT! Very useful!
September 8th, 2007 at 11:48 am
amazing - it's awesome - esp the tags - fooh!
September 9th, 2007 at 3:29 am
Hey! Scribefire is still my blogging tool no. 1! Thanks a lot!
Anyway...sending trackbacks doesn't seem to work. Everytime I want to trackback a posting, I have to use the original Wordpress editor. Kinda complicated :(
September 9th, 2007 at 11:53 pm
In case of locale Dutch, the tab text is out of bounds.
First tab text 'Blogs': only 'logs' is visible. (use a smaller font when text is out of range)
Better use 'Notities' as translation for 'Notes' in stead of 'Opmerkingen'. This is shorter.
Great add-on !

LuCaS

Can you please add an option in the next release to customize the hotkey? F8 conflicts with Yahoo Widgets.

Hello
There is a big problem with scribefire!
My firefox clear the passwords when a i close it, its ok, but when i start the firefox again the scrib fire ask my password, its ok too, but when i digit my password everybody can read it!!!!
October 5th, 2007 at 1:07 am
This is just to say...
JOB WELL DONE!!!
to the team who made scribefire...
it is a wonderful i repeat wonderful blog editor!!!

Hey, guys, show me your scribefire screenshot here: http://softicana.com/details/scribefire-firefox-add-on-for-bloggers/
October 5th, 2007 at 5:16 am
I just installed Feedburner, on Blogger, and Scribefire has become useless. Won't post anything (I lost a post, completely).
I know there must be s simple fix...right?
Otherwise, it was good while it lasted...
October 14th, 2007 at 5:49 pm
My blog host isn't supported by scribefire. Is there anything I can do?
October 15th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
That is a great add on, but, there's a way of protecting it? with a password or something? Here at home me and my wife are the only one using this computer, but I can't install this plug in at work. everyone will be able to write in my blog.
October 17th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
Hi,
I would like to apologize. At first I didn't like ScribeFire,
as I published on my blog. Then someone told me where to find
the options menu to disable the "powered by" text.
I'm enjoying using it now, so good work guys!
PS: It doesn't seem to insert tags though... a bug?
October 18th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
I use IE6 and don't want to change it with FireFox, even for ScribeFire latast version.
October 18th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
You Rock
There is a shit load of good things with this tool. keep it up
Suggestion for you GUI:
Enhance the insert hypertext link to include a title and target
Insert a page brake (with word press this allows the post to be broken with a Read More link)
October 20th, 2007 at 10:19 pm
I think it does work great ...
but it would be nicer if it supported upload images directly to blogger, as it can be done via blogger web interface.
October 27th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
Amazing extension :)
The close button looks weird in Linux version (for Ubuntu 6.06 LTS).

But, I can't log me in successfully with this... ScribeFire... in my Wordpress.
I'm very sure my name und passwd are correct ;-)

i cant find the plugin?
anyone can help me?
November 15th, 2007 at 7:50 am
Wonderful extension! I only miss some documentation. Is there any site that describes ScribeFire in detail?
It is really a shame if a lot of this functionality is unused because people do not know how to. I really miss:
- a list of keyboard shortcuts (I only know of F8)
- a list of themes and add-ons (if there are none yet, please say so instead of just redirecting here).
Feature suggestion: a pool of special HTML symbols, like Wordpress.com has on the "advanced" toolbar. You could fill one of the default (sample) notes with such symbols. Then it would be easy to copy/paste any symbol from that note.
November 15th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
Lovely. A few issues. Block quotes stillhurl, basically. As another commenter said, one pretty much has to do all of that oneself, in editing the html. That would be a great bugfix. Also, I cannot close the technorati search box screen once I have turned it on. I've closed out and reopened, no luck. pretty annoying as I lost all contents of a note for a post I was working on. How does one toggle back tot the editor view from that???
Elsewise, lovely indeed. I hate to seem ungrateful. This is a wonderful tool!
November 17th, 2007 at 8:45 am
I love your software. But when i have uploaded my blog with Scribefire, i always use my own software also, because I want my links mentioned in my blog to open in a new window (target="_blank"). Can you build in that option also?
Thank you!
November 18th, 2007 at 7:11 pm
Very nice, I'm going to try this one out.
November 19th, 2007 at 12:46 am
I like it!
I have some little problems but support is not responsible.
November 19th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
Just a heads up, though I'm sure you're aware by now: us WordPress 2.3 users could use an upgrade to SF to accommodate both Categories and the new Tagging scheme.
Thanks!
November 27th, 2007 at 2:45 pm
I still don't understand how to get SF to work with tagging in WP 2.3. Can anyone help? Thanks!
November 28th, 2007 at 1:21 pm
ScribeFire (previously Performancing for Firefox) is a full-featured blog editor that integrates with your browser and lets you easily post to your blog!!! nice!!!
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:21 pm
This does NOT - I repeat NOT support "tags" for Wordpress. It creates a new CATEGORY NOT TAGS for wordpress (self hosted 2.31). It would be nice if this actually supported tagging and did as they claimed it did.
I had tested this out several versions ago - and it did the same thing then. I'm sad to see that it was not fixed. I'll check back before the next release.

DUDE this is LACKING BIG TIME!!!!!!
It needs the option of being able to RESIZE images and POSITION IMAGES just like post2blog or windows live writer.. currently it doesnt let a person do that. It also should let you upload images without having to add ftp info
Also it needs a MORE TAG for long posts for wordpress a button would be fine to split the post
And options for adding more sites to ping
January 1st, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Like you can add an image but you have to upload it before you can do anything with it.. which is lame..
VIew post2blog or windows live writer and how they do it.. thats the way it should be done
browse for image.. select.. position using BUTTONS, resize using buttons or adding your own.. get it so you can add it on left and have text wrap on right or image on right and text wrap on left
then post and it uploads then...

This is a highly unstable release version(1.4.2). Half the time it works, half the time it is blank when reviewing posts. Sometimes it totally messes up the formatting.
Is there a way to go back to a previous version? I never had this problem with previous releases.
February 1st, 2008 at 1:23 pm
You likely know about this already, but the LeakMonitor plugin for Firefox reports a memory leak in the ScribeFire plugin every time a form is submitted (and not just a ScribeFire form). This is on FF 2.0.11 using the ScribeFire 1.4.2 plugin.
