ScribeFire 1.4.1 is on its way
Filed under: Preview, Support Forum, Windows Live Spaces -- Christopher Finke @ 08:28pmWe’re working on getting a new release out there to fix some long-standing bugs and clean up the UI a little bit. We thank all of you for your patience and feedback.
Here’s a look at some changes we’re looking at making, but not necessarily in the next release:
- Allowing posting simultaneously to multiple blogs
- Easier tagging and categorizing
- Cleaning up the interface
- Support for Windows Live Spaces
- Setting posts to be published in the future
We’re also looking into getting a support forum going, which we’ll announce here on the blog when it’s up.

Please fix the BLOCKQUOTE command that doesn’t close! That is the main thing that prevents me from using Scribefire with my wordpress blog.
Thanks!

Hello!
I wish for the new version, that when you edit a entry, that the publish as edit button is at the positon from the publish to blog button. Because often i click on the publish to blog button and i’ve got two entries.
Thank you

Hi
Nr.1 wish:
To a cleanup of the code Scribfire is generating. It is a bit messsy if you want du manualy correct an article later on without using Scribfire. Using it with Drupal, and it works great!
Support for image size setting, would also be nice
Keep up the good work!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK here is the answer for using scribefire with Live spaces.
You must set up e-mail posting!! This is the key!
Set it up, and answer the secret word.
So for a live space account at http://yourblog.spaces.live.com the Scribefire
config would be:
-Start the add blog wizard
-use http://yourblog.spaces.live.com for the blog’s URL; when it connects, continue.
-Pick Live Spaces as the type.
-Enter the blog name, in this example yourblog as the username. ONLY THE NAME!
NOT THE FULL URL.
-Enter the secret word NOT YOUR PASSWORD in the password box.
It should connect now. Worked for me!
I am surprised no one has replied to this from wordpress??

Oh yeah, I found the answer here at msdn:

I really like ScribeFire, promote to all my clients and evangelize the hello out of it. But there are a couple of things I’d REALLY like to see added:
1) A more vibrant WYSIWYG Editor, more like the one used at ShoutPost. Big thing I need is the ability to MODIFY the TYPE, specifically: set TYPE FONT. Size and Justify are there. Why not add FONT? I can easily go to the code and add the Font… but most of my clients either can’t or won’t. So they continue to overlook SF and use inferior, less productive tools.
2) Ability to post directly into DIRECTORY settings on WP. Some of the THEMES I use ’seemed’ to allow this, but when used, they add in EVERY DIRECTORY as a TAG LIST. Not good.
3) Why have the accumulative TAG LIST instead of the simple FORM ENTRY? The TAG LIST would fine, if it didn’t mix ALL forms, thereby necessitating a lenghty selection process.
I’ve got a few more .. but if you add these, then ScribeFire will be darned near indespensible! “. )

“&” in Typepad Categories causes problems when publishing.
View the bug in video tour fashion/action here - I recorded it as it happened using http://www.jingproject.com screencast: Watch Here: http://screencast.com/t/XPaNPralz

1. You need to listen to your users instead of being assholes and avoiding things which it needs
2. It needs to allow for images to be inserted into the post without all that upload shit before hand.. thats old school.. let get with the times you numb nuts
Look at Microsoft writer thats how it should work..browse select images, pick placement, pick size and hit post and it uploads the whole lot.. none of the other shit you gays are doing.. fuck man..
Serious sort this piece of crap out its an embarrasment to the blogging community

I love the plugin and will continue using it. I look forward to the new updates.
Speaking of updates, while your at it, maybe you should create a back up folder so when you accidentally hit delete you don’t lose a ton of notes or a worse, a blog post.
At least a pop up warning would be nice.
Lost a ton of time today.

Twelve issues to resolve when selecting your web publishing program….
Many of us have a dream of setting up a web site, whether for commercial purposes, or just because we want one. We lack the skills to do so or we are intimidated by the whole process….
